Supporting the Soup Kitchen at St. Vincent de Paul Dining Room has been a 34 year mission project for Wasatch.  Once a month, we make sandwiches on a Tuesday evening and then serve them the following day to the hungry and homeless in downtown Salt Lake City.  Both sandwich making and serving are a wonderful way to serve the community and enjoy fellowship. Our dates for 2019 are:

July 23rd & 29th / August 27th & 28th / September 24th & 25th

October 22nd & 23rd / November 26th & 27th / December tbd*

Wasatch also prepares and serves special holiday meals during Easter and Christmas time. The community plans and prepares the meal so we can provide a traditional holiday meal that the hungry can enjoy.

Sandwich Making (at Wasatch)

For sandwich making on Tuesday evenings, we gather in the church gym at 7:00 p.m. to make 700+ sandwiches.  It takes about one hour, and all ages, including small children, are welcome and encouraged to assist.

Serving (at St. Vincent de Paul)

For serving on Wednesday afternoons, we gather at the St. Vincent de Paul Dining Hall at 4:30 p.m. in downtown Salt Lake at 427 West 200 South.  Serving takes about two hours and volunteers must be at least 12 years of age.

Questions? Want to Help?

If you have questions about sandwich making or serving, or would like to lend a hand, please contact Rebecca Sandulli at rsandulli@wpcslc.org.

We love new faces and helping hands.  Also, we love to share this ministry with groups outside of Wasatch.  So if your family, friends, colleagues, neighbors, church, school, etc. are interested in a fun volunteer opportunity, please contact Rebecca Sandulli.
