To Be Alive - Stewardship Campaign 2019

“If we’re not supposed to dance, why all this music?”

To Be Alive
by Gregory Orr

To be alive: not just the carcass
But the spark
That’s crudely put, but ….
If we’re not supposed to dance,
Why all this music?

I’ve heard a lot of comments from you dear people of Wasatch who like this poem and who think it works very well as theme for this year’s stewardship campaign.

While preparing last Sunday’s sermon, “To Be Alive,”  I remembered the amazing feeling of freedom I felt when carrying a very light backpack through Europe when I was only 23 – how free I felt and how that made me feel so very alive.

This Sunday, October 21,  we will think together about the animating spark of life in us – how it makes us feel and how it connects us, inevitably, with others who are enlivened the same way.

  • Oct 21   Mark 10:35-45   “Not The Carcass, But the Spark”

And here are the other two upcoming sermons in this fall series:

  • Oct 28  Mark 10:46-52   “ If We’re Not Supposed To Dance …”

  • Nov 4    Ruth 1:1-18        “…Then Why All This Music?”

We invite all during this Stewardship season to join us in helping sustain the ministry and mission that is Wasatch Presbyterian Church.

Grace & Peace,

Pastor Scott
