DISCIPLE Bible Study

The following is an invitation for people to join with Wasatch Presbyterian Church for the Disciple Bible Study this fall.

We Want to Be Part of Your Journey

Wasatch Presbyterian Church is seeking 12 to 18 people to join a new round of Disciple Bible study this fall. The course is geared to provide a thorough overview of the Old and New Testaments to help you, wherever you are on your faith journey, know the Bible more intimately and equip you to lead Bible studies in your congregations or with your friends.

The course is scheduled to start with an organizational meeting Thursday September 15 at 7 p.m. at Wasatch Presbyterian Church, 1626 South 1700 East. The course then will meet for 34 weeks every Thursday starting at 7 p.m. in the Wasatch Presbyterian conference room. The classes will start at 7 p.m. run for about two-and-a-half hours. The course will break for Thanksgiving and in mid-December for Christmas.

Disciple Bible study includes video discs, oral presentations, discussion, and a manual to help enrich our understanding of God's presence from creation to now. Oral presentations will supplement the manual with a variety of Christian-based study and literature.

The Disciple manual is a product of the National Council of Churches of Christ in the U.S.A. The cost for the manual and other materials in the course is $60. A study Bible also is recommended. Some scholarships will be available for both items.

Disciple I “Becoming Disciples Through Bible Study”

If you have longed for a full understanding of the Bible; to enrich your faith through Scripture; and to experience closeness to God in the company of other searching Christians, join this fall’s Disciple I “Becoming Disciples Through Bible Study.” Classes beginning Thursday evening, in September at 7:00 PM led by our own Russell Weeks. Disciple will bring Scripture home personally to you, and build spiritual formation in your life. The underlying assumption of Disciple is that people are hungry for the word of God, for fellowship in prayer and study, and for a sense of committed ministry as baptized, believing Christians.

Disciple I “Becoming Disciples Through Bible Study” is a 34 week journey through the biblical story from Genesis to Revelation. It utilizes a balance between individual study and group discussion supported with a weekly video segment. It is Scripturally balanced by a study of 17 lessons each from the Old Testament and New Testament. The result is a profound overview of the entire Bible. Disciple I is open to anyone wishing to study God’s word. There are no prerequisites.
