ANNUAL CONGREGATIONAL MEETING

Join us this SUNDAY (2/10) at 10:10 a.m. in the Sanctuary to look back at 2018, look ahead at 2019, review our budget and celebrate our wonderful congregation.  Club 56 and Youth are invited and encouraged to attend the meeting.  Childcare for children up through 4th grade will be provided in the gym.  Following the meeting, join us for celebratory refreshments in Fellowship Hall.

CM FAMILY OUTING THIS SUNDAY

Come join your kids on the obstacle course this Sunday (2/10) from 4:00-6:00 p.m.!  There is a play area for 2-4 year olds and a ninja style obstacle course for 5 year olds-adults, plus dodgeball.  We’ll meet at Obstacle Warrior Kids, 10250 State Street in Sandy.

BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS IS INITIATING A NEW PROGRAM

Task Tuesday - Pizza and Projects!  The second Tuesday of each month, Buildings and Grounds will host a project work session from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and ends with your favorite pizza for lunch.  The first task Tuesday is February 12th in the library.  We’ll have all the materials and supplies needed for the projects and guidance will be provided.  The only qualifications are a willingness to be part of a team and a favorite pizza!  Look for the table in Fellowship Hall for more information.

HEARTING FUNDRAISER

The Youth will drive around SLC, using their stealth ninja skills to place hearts in the yards of unexpected targets, chosen by congregation members.  We'll stop for dinner so bring $5.  Meet at the church on Wednesday, February 13th at 5:30 p.m.

YOUTH SUMMER RAFT TRIP SAVE THE DATE!

Tuesday, August 6th - Saturday, August 10th the Youth will depart, spend the night at a local church in Moab, and spend three nights and four days on the Colorado River.  This adventure is open to current 6th graders through graduating seniors.  Mark your calendar!

MARDI GRAS

Join in the annual WPC fun of celebrating Fat Tuesday!   All ages are invited to come for a raucous evening of pancakes and bacon, as well as music, dancing, beads and collaborative art.  We’ll wrap the revelry with a short devotion to begin the season of Lent.  Tuesday, March 5th from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

SIGN UPS FOR MARDI GRAS & ASH WEDNESDAY

Sign-up clipboards are available for Mardi Gras (March 5) and Ash Wednesday (March 6).  Both events need folks to help clean up after, but we also need help at Mardi Gras making pancakes, and soup for the potluck on Ash Wednesday.

COFFEE HOUR REFRESHMENTS

Has it been awhile since you brought refreshments?  New sign-up sheets are posted on the bulletin board.  This is an easy way to donate to the fellowship at Wasatch.  Buy or make refreshments (keep it simple) for about 60 people and drop them off before going to worship, Congregational Life will do the rest!

SOUPER BOWL OF CARING

SUNDAY the Youth will collect donations after worship services for a local non-profit organization.  Clean out those change containers and bring in those pennies!

FAMILY PROMISE

Sunday is the start of our first Family Promise hosting session for 2019.  We will be hosting homeless families in our Children’s Ministry classrooms until Sunday, February 3rd.  We’re still in need for a volunteer to be the overnight host on Saturday, March 2nd.  If you’re able to volunteer, please use the following link to sign up https://www.signupgenius.com/go/5080f4da4ae2ba7ff2-jan.  Also, send prayers for the families we are serving, as well as the many volunteers needed to support this important mission.  Thank you, Family Promise Leadership Team!

ADULT EDUCATION

Lectionary Change: In an effort to study for the Bible content exam, Terresa will be taking a brief 6-week leave of absence from directing the lectionary class and will be participating in Scott's class on the Prophets.  The lectionary class will be self-guided with all materials made available.

BAGBY ORGAN AND ORCHESTRA CONCERT

Our recently upgraded sanctuary organ will be featured in the annual Bagby Memorial Concert on Monday, January 28th at 7:00 p.m.  Dr. Kenneth Udy will perform as organ soloist with the Young Artist Chamber Players, a string orchestra of high school honor students under the baton of Jack Ashton, in the Western U.S. premiere of the Organ Concerto in A Minor by French-Canadian composer, Denis Bédard.  Marian Florence will also be soloing on violin in Albinoni's famous Adagio.  The brilliant five-movement work showcases the new effects and sounds now available on our organ.  Please mark your calendars now and plan to attend this special event!

CLUB 56

A “crafternoon” making Valentine’s Day themed throw pillows out of fleece and also fun with slime!  This Sunday (1/27) from 12:15 p.m. - 2:15 p.m. in the Loft.

YOUTH SERVICE PROJECT

The youth will gather to make dinner for our Family Promise guests on Tuesday, January 29th from 5:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. in the Main Kitchen.

If you are in need of an updated Church Directory, they can be found in Fellowship Hall on Sunday mornings and the Church office during the week.  Digital copies can be emailed by requests sent to reception@wpcslc.org.  Any old directories can be deposited in the Church workroom gray shred box.
