THIS SUNDAY (9/9) IS RALLY DAY!
That means we return to two worship services - one at 9 a.m. and another at 11:15 a.m. Following both worship services, there will be tables in Fellowship Hall with information about all that goes on in the life of Wasatch, as well as refreshments and fellowship. Come and check out all the wonderful opportunities here at Wasatch!
During the first Rally Day session (10 a.m.-11 a.m.), there will be Children's Ministry activities in the gym - children up through 6th grade are invited to join. Children's Ministry is also kicking off the year with a BBQ at 5 p.m. on Sunday afternoon at Wasatch Hollow Park - click here to RSVP if you haven't already!
If your youth plans to come to Sunday School every Sunday (gold star) or occasionally (wherever you are in your faith journey, which includes the ski slopes, you are welcome here), please sign up at the Youth Table during Rally Day. Youth, meet in the loft from 10:30 a.m. - 10:45 a.m. for donuts and to find out highlights of the events happening this year.
Please note that Sunday School and Adult Education will start up next Sunday, September 16th.
This Sunday we will also be dedicating the new organ during the later service, with special music by Ken Udy and some wonderful history of the organs at Wasatch. We are so blessed to have Ken in our community and the knowledge, and music he provides to our congregation.
Many thanks to all who donated socks and underwear for the children in foster care! Your donations will be distributed by the staff at Utah Foster Care Foundation. The people of Wasatch showed their generosity once again, and your donations are greatly appreciated.
CUB SCOUT EVENT
WPC’S Cub Scout Pack 3038 is currently looking for any interested families with children ages K-5th who would like to have a fun ADVENTURE while learning life skills, service to others, citizenship and camping skills. Sign up/Renewal night will be Tuesday, September 11th from 7 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. in the gym.
If you know of anyone looking to enroll their four year old child for the current school year, please spread the word that we have a few available openings in our Pre-Kindergarten Program. Contact the Preschool Director, Christy at firstname.lastname@example.org for info.
Our next hosting week is September 16th - 23rd. Wasatch supports these families as they work to break out of the homelessness cycle and get back on their feet. You can make a meal, act as a host or even spend the night. No experience necessary! Sign up online at www.wpcslc.org or after worship in Fellowship Hall.
FAMILY FUN OUTING

FALL KICK-OFF: YOUTH LOCK-IN
We will start off the school year with the youth's favorite activity: spending the night at the church! We will have pizza, snacks, night games and lots of fun. Paul Hewitt will lead a 10 class series called “Steward, Living as Disciples in Everyday Life” beginning September 16th. If you are interested, please call/email the church office or come in and sign up. All are welcome!
Wasatch underwent a major remodel and expansion in 2004, resulting in the wonderful facility that we have today. To do so, the church took out a $3.3m mortgage in 2004 and thanks to an aggressive payment plan and generous donations, the amount needed to retire the mortgage is approximately $32,000. The Budget & Finance Committee is hoping to wrap up 2018 by celebrating the end of the mortgage. If you are able to contribute to this special effort in any way, donations are welcome. The bad news - we urgently need to replace our wonderful Bill White as Buildings & Grounds Chair. Bill has moved from his nearby residence, and can no longer attend to the duties of Chair. The good news – the building is in great condition and we have a talented custodial staff and committee in place. Please contact Rev. Dalgarno if you have any interest.
