September 6, 2019

This Sunday we return to two worship services with the iBelieve service at 9:00 a.m. and the Traditional service at 11:15 a.m.  We will miss seeing everyone all at once, but will have to make sure to cross paths during coffee hours.  Amen for coffee hours! Whichever service you attend, and you came to the retreat, don’t forget to wear your tie dye.

We also begin Sunday School for the Children and Youth at 10:10 a.m.  Each Sunday, Youth will meet in the Loft and Children will meet in Fellowship Hall, then children will proceed to chapel time in the Club 56 lounge.

Children’s Ministry classrooms after chapel time:

  • 3-5 year olds will meet in the Nursery.

  • ·Kindergarteners - 2nd graders will meet in the Art Room.

  • 3rd and 4th graders will meet in the Theater Room.

  • 5th and 6th graders will meet in the Lounge.

Youth Ministry:

  • 7th - 12th graders, join us for conversation around a current event in the context of our faith.

A gentle reminder that children need to be picked up after class (11:00) and are asked not to play in the gym, loft or playground unsupervised.

Adult Education will begin next Sunday, September 15.  Below is the line up for the fall classes.

  • September 15 - October 13:  Russell Weeks will teach us about Maccabees I and II.  These are part of the Apocrypha, those  mysterious books missing from our King James & later Protestant Bibles but familiar to our Catholic and Orthodox friends.  They are a historical account of political, military, and diplomatic events from the time of Judaea’s relationship with Antiochus IV Epiphanes of Syria (reigned 175–164/163bc).  If you have ever wondered what the  Jewish Festival of Lights, Hanukkah is about, you can learn it now!

  • October 20 – November:  Pastor Scott Dalgarno will share with us various theological questions and topics of interest that have piqued him during his Sabbatical.

  • Meditation class:  Join us each Sunday from 10:10 – 11:00 a.m., beginning September 15, for a class on “Manifesting God within and around through prayer, meditation, sacred readings and mindfulness.”  Location to be determined.

Prison Ministry is in need of volunteers.  You will have tremendous impact through this ministry.  Your service will help lead change from within by providing opportunities for incarcerated students to heal and serve both themselves and others through Interdenominational Faith studies.  Class content is centered on books and film.  You’ll also experience laughter, friendship, and camaraderie.  Time commitment is periodic Saturday attendance from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m.  Contact Gay Cookson at or Paul Hewitt at

If you haven’t already, please sign up for Coffee Hour Refreshments.  The sign up sheet has dates available through May 2020.  This is an easy way to serve our Wasatch community!  Plan on 50-60 people at each coffee hour (most folks only sign up for one coffee hour), bring light refreshments (meant to be a little snack after worship) to the Fellowship Hall kitchen 15 minutes before worship and Congregational Life will take care of the rest.  Thank you for signing up, we appreciate your help!
