YOUTH LUNCH OUTING

SUNDAY we’ll walk to Einstein's for lunch after the 11:15 a.m. worship service from 12:30 – 2:00 p.m.  Meet in Fellowship Hall and bring $10.

ADULT EDUCATION FALL 2019

  • Meditation class - Join us each Sunday from 10:10-11:00 a.m. in room 116 for a class on “Manifesting God within and around through prayer, meditation, sacred readings and mindfulness.”

  • September 15 - October 13 - Russell Weeks will teach us about Maccabees I and II.  These are part of the Apocrypha, those mysterious books missing from our King James & later Protestant Bibles but familiar to our Catholic and Orthodox friends.  They are a historical account of political, military, and diplomatic events from the time of Judaea’s relationship with Antiochus IV Epiphanies of Syria (reigned 175–164/163bc).  If you have ever wondered what the Jewish Festival of Lights, Hanukkah is about, you can learn it now!

CALLING ALL SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHERS!

We are in need of a regular teacher for the 3rd & 4th grade class as well as substitute teachers for the occasional Sundays our regular teachers are absent.  If you are interested in helping the children of Wasatch grow in their faith, please contact Stasha at slewis@wpcslc.org.

WASATCH 101

Are you new to Wasatch and have questions about how things at Wasatch Presbyterian Church work?  Or, maybe you have some other questions about how you can get involved in the life of Wasatch.  We will meet from 10:10 – 11:00 a.m. October 6 in the Library.  Led by the Pastor and Elder Doug Howe.  Contact Doug Howe for more information at  doughowedds@gmail.com.

COFFEE HOUR SIGN UP

If you haven’t already, please sign up for Coffee Hour Refreshments.  This is an easy way to serve our Wasatch community!  Plan on 50-60 people at each coffee hour, bring light refreshments (meant to be a little snack after worship) to the Fellowship Hall kitchen 15 minutes before worship and Congregational Life will take care of the rest.  Thank you for signing up, we appreciate your help!

PRISON MINISTRY

Prison Ministry is in need of volunteers.  You will have tremendous impact through this ministry.  Your service will help lead change from within by providing opportunities for incarcerated students to heal and serve both themselves and others through Interdenominational Faith studies.  Class content is centered on books and film.  You’ll also experience laughter, friendship, and camaraderie.  Time commitment is periodic Saturday attendance from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.  Contact Gay Cookson at gaycookson@comcast.net or Paul Hewitt at pwhewitt@msn.com.

CONFIRMATION INTEREST PARENT & STUDENT MEETING

Do you have an 8th grader (or older) who is interested in learning more about our faith, Presbyterian tradition, and what it means to be a Christian?  Perhaps you want this intentional time and space for them to learn and talk through questions of faith?  Please come to the interest meeting on Sunday, October 13 at 12:30 p.m. to find out if confirmation classes are right for your student.
