May 24, 2019

It’s been a jam-packed week at Wasatch which began with festivities last Sunday and finished with end of year Preschool performances.  Family Promise guests have been here and it’s been a full house!  Thank you to the volunteers who’ve made hosting them possible.

Another thank you goes to our grounds crew.  The gardens at Wasatch look absolutely beautiful and it’s being noticed.  Thank you for the love and care you’ve given, so we can all enjoy!

Prayers of peace and safety this Memorial Day weekend as you travel or visit resting places of family or friends.  If you are in town, come to worship for a warm send off for Scott before he departs on his sabbatical this summer.

A reminder that we will continue one combined worship service at 10:00 a.m. through Labor Day Weekend.  Sunday School classes will resume after Labor Day.  The Adult Ed. Meditation class will continue each week in the Loft Upper Classroom at 9:00 a.m.  Church office hours from Memorial Day through Labor Day will be Monday-Friday from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Each Sunday throughout the summer, anyone who wishes to sing in the choir for that Sunday's service is invited to come to the choir room for a short rehearsal at 9:30, change from 9:15, to learn the anthem for the day.  The music is straightforward and fun!  Please consider joining the summer choir when you can.

On Sunday, June 2nd from 11:15 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. we will have lunch at the church before heading out for our 4 hour volunteer shift at the water and soda table at the Pride Festival (12:30 - 4:30 p.m.).  I have 6 youth slots and 2 adult slots needing filled.  Please let me know right away if you/your youth will participate.

Saturday, June 8 from 9:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. will be a day of service & fun.  Save the date to hang out with other Youth from Utah's Presbytery (YUP).

Are you new to the Wasatch family in the last year or so?  If you answered yes, then please plan to come to a backyard BBQ on Sunday, June 23 at 5:00 p.m. at the home of Doug and Charlotte Howe.  Participants don’t need to be official members; but we would like to celebrate all the new people at Wasatch and get to know you better!  We will have food and drinks, and kids are welcome.  Please RSVP to Doug at so we know how much food to prepare.

We are looking for a new Soup Kitchen Scheduler(s), to take the lead in coordinating volunteers each month to make sandwiches and serve at the soup kitchen.  This soup kitchen is a wonderful ministry and a great way to involve those within and outside the congregation.  The volunteer schedule is set for 2019.  This could be a great role for two people to share.  Anyone interested or with questions is invited to contact Alysia Harris at

We are going to have a camp!  This is your chance to make a difference in a child's life.  50 kids from the Utah foster care system will enjoy a week of guaranteed fun and caring, in the Wasatch Mountains this summer, from July 28 through August 2.  We are in need of more volunteers to staff this ministry.  The largest need is for counselors, or "Big Campers" and two social workers.  However, there are many other ways you can serve; with organizing, sorting, packing, crafts, reading at bedtime, activities and just having fun with the kids.  Camp training will be held on June 8.  Please visit our website at to apply, donate, explore, find answers and see what Royal Family Kids Camp is about.  You may also contact Shelley Horel at  To all who have donated and supported Royal Family Kids, thank you!  You helped to make this camp possible.

June 10-13 from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. each evening.  In the spirit of VBS, Camp Wasatch will offer fun and fellowship, including music, games, snacks, art, and storytelling.  The theme for this year will be “Celebrating God’s Creation.”  Children ages 5 yrs - 3rd grade may be dropped off, while children ages 3 - 4 yrs should be accompanied by a parent.  To register, email
