First things first, we spring forward this Sunday for daylight savings. A quick reminder to move your clocks ahead one hour, as we would hate if we missed seeing you on Sunday!
After a celebratory Mardi Gras and a reflective Ash Wednesday worship, we are now in the quiet, contemplative season of Lent. Please join us during this season as we embark on our own journeys of discovery and deeper meaning of our world. Below you will find our Lenten offerings.
A six-part sermon series entitled Redemption Song, where we will focus on the story of redemption found throughout the narrative of Scripture. God’s story is a story of redemption, unfolding in lives, families, and nations through millennia.
The series begins Sunday with the sermon “A Strange Romance.”
In 2016, the First Sunday in Lent is Valentine’s Day. I chose to use the strange romance of Hosea and Gomer to illustrate the undying love of God for his wayward people. Love like that is strange, indeed, in a world in which relationships are based on a “what-have-you-done-for-me-lately” mindset. Scripture is Hosea 3:1-5.
A Lenten Retreat, led by former Pastoral Associate Heather Monkmeyer. All are invited to gather with the Wasatch family on the threshold of holy week for a spacious day of opening to the surprises God might have for each of us. In a contemplative setting, and with a spirit of wonder, we will engage scripture, poetry, art, and music, each as a different language of prayer. There will be a mix of individual time and time gathered in community. We hope you’ll join us on Saturday, April 13th, 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
This Monday (3/11) at 6:00 p.m. in the Loft. Looking forward to seeing all the youth that are participating in confirmation!
TASK TUESDAY - PIZZA AND PROJECTS
The second Tuesday of each month, Building and Grounds will host a project work session from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and ends with your favorite pizza for lunch. The next Task Tuesday is coming up on March 12th in the library; we’ll have all the materials and supplies needed for the projects and guidance provided. The only qualifications are a willingness to be part of a team and a favorite pizza! Look for the table in Fellowship Hall for more information.
