March 15, 2019

It's the middle of March and exactly how it should be... one day we feel spring in the air, the next day a snowstorm.  I find that this time of year can be invigorating, as we begin to awaken from our winter haze.  May your spirit start to rouse just as the bulbs also emerge from their sleeping beds.

This SUNDAY (3/17) at 11:10 a.m., for the single purpose of electing Scott Peppler (current chair of Buildings and Grounds Committee) to an open position on Session.  Please be present if you can.

After a celebratory Mardi Gras and a reflective Ash Wednesday worship, we are now in the quiet, contemplative season of Lent.  Please join us for:

· A six-part sermon series entitled Redemption Song, where we will focus on the story of redemption found throughout the narrative of Scripture.  God’s story is a story of redemption, unfolding in lives, families, and nations through millennia.

· A Lenten Retreat, led by former Director of Spiritual Formation Heather Monkmeyer.  All are invited to gather on the threshold of holy week for a spacious day of opening to the surprises God might have for each of us.  In a contemplative setting, and with a spirit of wonder, we will engage scripture, poetry, art, and music, each as a different language of prayer.  There will be a mix of individual time and time gathered in community.  Saturday, April 13th, 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.  Please RSVP by April 7th, either via the online sign-up or the clipboard in Fellowship Hall.

Join us at Olympus Lanes for our annual bowling outing, this year with a St. Patrick's Day flare!!  Don't forget to wear green!  This Sunday (3/17), 4:30 - 6:30 p.m.  Youth (7th-12th grade) are welcome to attend with or without their families.  Please let Hilary know if you can join us,

We are supporting Camp Tuttle in their fundraiser brunch at St. Mark's Cathedral, Saturday, April 6 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.  Camp Tuttle provides many summer camp opportunities for children and youth, as well as provides the location for our annual family camp.  We are blessed to partner with them in ministry and excited to support their fundraiser.  Contact Hilary if you would like to join us for this brunch!

Mark April 27th on your calendar for the annual fundraiser for Royal Family Kids Camp #113, a summer camp for abused and neglected children.  The camp is one of over 100 Bible camps nationwide, and impacts 50 children from the Utah foster care system.  70+ volunteers from over 12 local congregations participate in the camp.  The Royal Celebration is an evening of good food, good friends, silent and live auctions, all for a very worthy cause.  We are excited to have Wayne Tesch, the co-founder of Royal Family KIDS, Inc. as our guest speaker this year.  Pastor Tesch is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of foster children.  Join us at Hidden Valley Country Club in Sandy from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. to hear him share what's happening in America and around the world.  Come and bring your friends, you are sure to be inspired!  Visit our website at for tickets, volunteer and donation opportunities, general information and other ways you can help.
