Church News

Soul Collage is offered tomorrow (Fri) July 14th from 1:30-3:30 and  Sat July 15th from 10am-12pm.  Join us in Fellowship Hall for this meditative process that engages the imagination and intuition using images, scissors, paper, and glue in a quiet, prayerful space. No artistic tendencies required, just an open heart and willingness to engage. All supplies provided.

Terresa Newport will be leading “The Way of Prayer” each Tuesday at 6pm in the choir room.  Practices will include eight styles of prayer, as well as learning to pray with our eyes open.

August 6 and August 13 are designated "Undie Sundays".  We will be collecting underwear and socks in all sizes for children in the foster care system.  While you're out shopping for school clothes for kids/grandkids/other kids, please consider picking up another package or two for children who are struggling.  All donations will be delivered to the Utah Foster Care Foundation for distribution.  Look for the marked bin in the Fellowship Hall.

Sunday Sanctuary Flowers The deacons have the responsibility of helping to arrange the Flower dedications each Sunday.  This involves the flower sign-up sheet in Fellowship Hall, contacting the donor for the dedication and arranging the flower delivery to the church on Saturday.  The flowers are either taken by the donor or delivered by the deacons to someone we visit after the service. For over 7 years the cost has stayed at $40 per flower dedication, but will increase to $45 starting in August 2017, to cover the increasing costs of flowers and delivery.   Because we are making this change mid-year after many of you have already signed up, we will honor those historical dedications at the $40 rate. Contact Angie Richardson (pinnaclecanyon@hotmail.com) the deacon flower coordinator if you have any questions.

Sudanese Fund Raiser-It’s time to start saving for the annual rummage sale and boutique which will be held Aug. 12 & 13 in the gym.  Please consider donating household goods, childrens clothing, books, fashion accessories, jewelry, tools, toys, outdoor gear, linens, and small furniture items.  If you have handcrafted items to donate, that would be great. Thanks for your support.  For questions call Jane at 801-466-2727.

Calling all singers for Summer Choir each Sunday throughout the summer.  Meet in the Choir Room at 9:15am to learn the anthem.

Wasatch Presbyterian Preschool is accepting applications for a full-time (32 hrs/week) preschool teacher.  Info in the office and on the website, or contact Preschool Director Christy Lawlor at christylawlor@wpcslc.org

The RSVP’s are coming in for the all-church Labor Day Retreat September 2nd-4th at Camp Tuttle.  All ages are encouraged to join us for the day, the night, or all weekend.  See the flyer in the foyer or on the website.

Wasatch has a new shredder that enables us to offer shredding services to the congregation.  Contact Susie at reception@wpcslc.org or call the church office (801.487.7576) to make arrangements. $5 per bankers box.

We are in need of ushers for the month of August. There is a sign-up sheet on a table out in Fellowship Hall. It's a fun way to meet all your Wasatch friends. Stop by, see Rocky and sign-up.....

Check the Lost & Found for your items! Leftover items will be donated to the Sudanese Fund Raiser in August.
