Many prayers for energy, motivation and understanding to returning students and educators as their summer ends and they begin a new, adventurous school year. May this year be an enlightening one!
Donations are accepted throughout the month with a special focus on Communion Sundays. We’re looking for protein items like tuna and peanut butter. They’re always in need of baby items like formula, diapers and baby food. Travel size shampoo, conditioner, soap and lotion are appreciated too. Donations can be left in the shopping carts, near the entrances.
Labor Day Retreat
We are one week away from the Labor Day Retreat! It is shaping up to be a grand time in the mountains, including the addition of Soul Collage, new games and Camp Tuttle t-shirts for tie-dyeing, designed by our very own Brian Cole. We need to finalize plans, so please RSVP and submit payment by Sunday, August 26th at the latest. Flyers and RSVP forms are available in Fellowship Hall, in the office and online. Any questions, contact Rebecca at email@example.com . New faces welcome and encouraged!
We’re continuing to collect socks and underwear this Sunday. Socks and underwear are the #1 need requested from foster parents for the children in their care. Donations can be left in Fellowship Hall or the Main Church entrance. Thank you for supporting the children who need them!
Coffee Hour Sign Up
Please help support Coffee Hour by donating refreshments. Sign-up on the clipboard in Fellowship Hall and bring your donation 15 minutes before service and Congregational Life will do the rest. If you have any questions, contact Courtney Raines at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Building Guru Needed
The bad news - we urgently need to replace our wonderful Bill White as Chair of the Buildings & Grounds Committee. Bill has moved from his nearby residence and can no longer attend to the duties of Chair. The good news – the WPC campus is in excellent condition and a small, but talented custodial staff and B&G Committee are in place. Please contact Rev. Dalgarno if you have any interest. Your church needs you now!
A reminder that September 9th is Rally Day! We will return to two worship services (one at 9 a.m. and one at 11:15 a.m.) and kick off the program year. Join us in Fellowship Hall after each worship service for food, fellowship and the chance to learn more about all the wonderful things that happen in the life of Wasatch.
Paul Hewitt will lead a 10 class series called “Steward, Living as Disciples in Everyday Life” beginning September 9th. If you are interested, please email the church office or come in and sign up. All are welcome!
Our next hosting week is September 16th - 23rd. Wasatch hosts 4 families for a week, 4 times each year. We support these families as they work to break out of the homelessness cycle and get back on their feet. Please sign up to fill one of the 50 volunteer slots necessary to make the week a success. You can make a meal, act as a host, or even spend the night. No experience necessary! Sign up online www.wpcslc.org or after worship service in Fellowship Hall.
