LADIES’ BOOK CLUB TONIGHT

CHILDREN'S CHRISTMAS PLAY
Children will practice for the much loved Christmas Program tomorrow (12/15) from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary.  This Sunday (12/16) they will perform it during both services.  It’s always a highlight of the year!

CLUB 56 PARTY

A reminder that our 5th and 6th graders have a Christmas gathering at 12:00 p.m. in the Lounge, following the play practice tomorrow (12/15).  Club 56 parents should have received a separate email about the party.  If you didn't, please let Stasha Lewis know at dr.stasha.lewis@gmail.com.

YOUTH FAMILIES’ ICE SKATING & DINNER

Families with youth aged kids are invited this Sunday (12/16) from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. for ice skating at the Gallivan Center, followed by dinner at a near-by restaurant.  Youth (& younger siblings who want to participate) should bring a wrapped white elephant re-gift with a $10 gift card attached.  Contact Dawn for more info dfleishman@wpcslc.org.

SANDWICH MAKING AND SOUP KITCHEN SERVING

We invite all to join us for a special holiday sandwich making and soup kitchen serving on the same day - Wednesday, December 26th.  We will gather at 2:30 p.m. on the 26th to make sandwiches in the gym, followed by soup kitchen serving at 4:30 p.m.  As always, all ages are welcome and encouraged to join for sandwich making and ages 12 and older are invited to join at the soup kitchen.  Please RSVP to Rebecca at rsandulli@wpcslc.org  if you would like to join.

WASATCH PRESCHOOL

CHRISTMAS WEEK

Please note that the Church Office will be closed from December 24th until January 2nd.  Staff will be accessible via phone and email, and a reminder that voicemails left on the church phone forward to staff emails.  The building will be available for use from 9:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. each day, with key access.  Anyone needing help with building access is invited to contact Allan McInnis.

SUDANESE NEEDS

During December we will be collecting money for Walmart gift cards.  We have had a request for used laptops and iPads (please leave with staff during church office hours).  At this time of year, we are also in need of winter coats, hats & gloves - all sizes.  There is an ongoing need for new pillows, sheets and blankets.  Thanks for your support!  Questions, call Jane.

All kids are invited to join the WPC Children's Choir which will perform at the 7:00 p.m. service on Christmas Eve.  Children will practice this Sunday between services at 10:15 in the choir loft, and next Sunday as well.  Thank you to Sabrina Cole and Marian Florence for leading this effort!

SUNDAY SCHOOL & ADULT EDUCATION
3-5 year olds will be in the nursery.

K-6th graders will enjoy a movie between performances in the CM classrooms.

Wasatch is in the middle of hosting Family Promise this week and things have been going well.  It’s a smaller group this time and appreciate the tireless support Allison has provided and all the volunteers’ efforts!

For many, Allan is the go to guy.  He has been under the weather this week and the rest of the staff has tried vehemently to keep him home to rest… an enormous challenge!  If you find remnants from the Advent Festival or other things askew this weekend, we’re just making sure you’re paying attention.  Please keep Allan in your thoughts and prayers.

FAMILY FUN NIGHT
Join us for dinner and a Christmas Movie TONIGHT at 6:00 p.m. in the Loft.  Pizza and popcorn provided, bring a side dish to share.

YOUTH SERVICE PROJECT
Youth will make, serve and clean up after dinner for Family Promise guests TONIGHT from 6-8 p.m.

We are participating in the Utah Foster Care Foundation’s Giving Tree program, which collects gifts for children of all sizes and ages who are in foster care.  Please take an ornament with a child's name and requested gifts, buy the item(s), and place them back, unwrapped, under the tree.  Any gift cards can be left in the Church Office or given to Shelley Horel.  All gifts will be distributed in time for Christmas to go to children who cannot be in their homes for the holidays.  All gifts should be in by Monday, December 10th.  Gift cards for emergencies are always welcomed, and can be donated after the 10th.

As we begin the final month of the year tomorrow, may we enter the Advent Season open to Peace and Grace being present in our lives.  This heightened season can amplify many thoughts and emotions.  Prayers that Hope, Joy, Peace and Love may be found and remain in your hearts.

ADVENT FESTIVAL

All ages are welcome to join us in kicking off the Advent Season at our annual Advent Festival this SUNDAY, from 5-7 p.m. in Fellowship Hall.  We’ll share a soup supper and enjoy a variety of activities including a carol sing-a-long, Advent crafts, handbells, live nativity animals and the Youth Bake Sale.  Please sign up in Fellowship Hall during coffee hour to bring soup and/or help clean up.

FAMILY PROMISE

This SUNDAY through Sunday, December 9th we will have Family Promise guests.  Wasatch supports these families as they work to break out of the homelessness cycle and get back on their feet.  You can make a meal, act as a host, or even spend the night.  No experience necessary!  Sign up online at www.wpcslc.org or after worship in Fellowship Hall.

If you pre-purchased a wreath and/or greenery, it is ready for you to pick up Sunday in Fellowship Hall.  We also have a handful of extra wreaths available for purchase.  Also, bring your sweet tooth and purchase baked goods from the Youth before and after both worship services.  All donations will go to fund our youth summer trip.  Thank you for supporting our youth ministry programs!

Registered confirmands journeying through confirmation this year will meet Monday, December 3rd 6-7:30 p.m.  Dinner will be provided.
